Privacy Policy
How Shoughl collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data — for employers, candidates, and visitors.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Shoughl LLC (“Shoughl”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our website and platform, whether you're an employer, a candidate, or simply browsing. By using Shoughl, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Who this applies to
- Candidates creating a profile or applying to roles
- Employers creating an account, browsing candidates, or posting jobs
- Visitors browsing the Shoughl website, including through our waitlist
3. Data we collect
From candidates
- Identity and contact details (name, email, phone number, location)
- Professional information (job title, skills, work history, availability, salary expectations)
- Language or skill proficiency samples relevant to roles the candidate is interested in, and if provided, a video or written pitch
- Remote work setup details (equipment, connectivity)
- Account credentials and usage data
From employers
- Company details (business name, trade license information, industry, size)
- Contact details of the account holder and team members
- Job posting content and hiring activity on the platform
- Billing details for credit purchases (processed by our payment provider — Shoughl does not store full card numbers)
From all visitors
- Usage and analytics data via tools such as Google Analytics (GA4) and Meta Pixel
- Device, browser, and general location information
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie settings for details and controls
4. Why we collect it
- To operate the platform — matching candidates with employers, enabling profile unlocks, and processing job postings
- To verify identity and reduce fraud on both sides of the platform
- To process payments for employer credit purchases
- To communicate with you about your account, applications, or job postings
- To improve the platform through aggregated, non-identifying analytics
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations
Our legal basis for processing is generally your consent (given when you create an account or submit a form), the necessity of processing to perform our agreement with you (e.g. delivering the service you signed up for), or our legitimate interest in operating and improving Shoughl.
6. Cross-border data transfers
Because Shoughl connects GCC employers with candidates located around the world, personal data may be transferred between and processed in more than one country. Where this happens, we take steps consistent with the PDPL's requirements — such as relying on service providers in jurisdictions with adequate data protection standards, or using appropriate contractual safeguards — to keep your data protected wherever it's processed.
7. How long we keep your data
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs. You can request deletion of your data at any time; see Section 8.
8. Your rights
Subject to the PDPL and applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office, or the relevant supervisory authority, if you believe your data has been mishandled
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.
10. Children
Shoughl is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

12. Changes to this policy
