Terms of Service

The rules that govern how employers and candidates use Shoughl — plans, credits, fair use, and what we are and aren't responsible for.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Shoughl in any way, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

2. What Shoughl is — and isn't

Shoughl is a connector platform that helps GCC-based employers discover and contact remote candidates from around the world, and helps candidates get discovered by real employers. Shoughl is not a recruitment agency, not an employer of record, and not a party to any employment relationship, contract, or agreement formed between an employer and a candidate through the platform. We facilitate the introduction; the hiring decision, employment terms, and ongoing relationship are entirely between employer and candidate.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use Shoughl.
  • You must provide accurate, current information when creating an account or a profile.
  • Employers must be authorized to act on behalf of the business they represent.

4. Candidate terms

  • A Free plan is always available for creating a profile and applying to roles, with no credit card required.
  • Paid candidate plans (Basic, Professional, Premium) and one-time Credit Packs are available for candidates who want additional credits, priority applications, profile visibility, or boosts, as described on our Pricing plans page.
  • Candidate plan subscriptions run on a 30-day cycle and do not auto-renew; credits from a plan remain valid for one year from issue. Credit Packs never expire and stack on top of any active plan.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile, including work history and skills claims.
  • Shoughl may verify information you provide and may remove profiles found to contain false or misleading information.

5. Employer terms

  • Employer accounts operate on prepaid plans. Each plan is a one-time purchase that instantly adds that plan's credits to your account, spent on unlocking candidate contact details, resumes, and direct messaging, as described on our Pricing plans page. Purchasing or renewing a plan again grants that batch of credits again — credits are never charged or added automatically without a purchase you initiate.
  • Employer plans are billed per purchase, not silently auto-charged — each time you buy or renew a plan, that plan's credits are added to your account instantly. Credits roll over and do not expire while your account remains active. There's no subscription to cancel; you simply choose whether to purchase or renew a plan. Credits already issued are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.
  • Job postings must accurately describe the role, be genuinely remote, and comply with employment law applicable in the employer's jurisdiction.
  • Employers are solely responsible for the employment relationship formed with any candidate, including contract terms, compensation, and compliance with applicable labor law.

6. Optional candidate boosts

Candidates may optionally purchase visibility boosts to increase profile prominence to employers, at the pricing shown at the time of purchase. Boosts affect visibility only and do not guarantee interviews or hiring outcomes.

7. Fair use and anti-circumvention

Shoughl's platform exists to connect employers and candidates — and our credit system is how we sustain that. To keep this fair for everyone:

  • Employers may not use information obtained through Shoughl to repeatedly source or re-contact candidates outside the platform in order to avoid paying applicable credits for future roles, within a reasonable period following initial contact.
  • Users may not scrape, copy, or export platform data in bulk, or use the platform to build a competing service.
  • Misrepresenting identity, credentials, or company affiliation is prohibited and may result in account suspension.

8. Intellectual property

All Shoughl branding, platform design, and underlying technology belong to Shoughl LLC. Content you submit (profile information, job postings) remains yours, but by posting it you grant Shoughl a license to display it on the platform for the purpose of operating the service.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Shoughl provides a platform to facilitate introductions and does not guarantee hiring outcomes, candidate performance, or employer conduct. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shoughl is not liable for disputes, damages, or losses arising from the employment relationship between an employer and a candidate, or from information provided by users of the platform.

10. Termination

Shoughl may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in fraudulent activity. Users may close their account at any time; unused credits are handled per our refund policy in effect at the time.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes will be handled through the courts or arbitration process specified here once finalized with counsel.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of Shoughl after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
